Our Family has a tradition of making Killer Salad as a side with our Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners. We first learned how to make this at a church dinner when we first got married, 27 years ago. We have gotten so used to having this be part of the meal we would never think of not having it on the menu. We nicknamed this salad, Killer Salad, because our family always kills the whole salad whenever it is made.
It is so easy to make. I have never seen this salad on any other menu or anywhere else. This is sure to be a hit at any party that you bring it to. Here is the recipe to make this.
1 Large Head of Romaine Lettuce torn into small pieces, (sometimes I substitute spinach)
1 pound of Bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 Cup Cherry Tomatoes, halved
Slivered almonds, toasted
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup croutons
Salt and Pepper to taste
Assemble all of the ingredients in a bowl and toss well
2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
1 Large Clove garlic crushed
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
¾ cup vegetable oil
Add the dressing to the salad and toss real well. Make sure to fill your bowl right away because I can pretty much bet you there will not be any seconds left!
